St. Raphael Medal — Sterling Silver | Patron Saint of Doctors & Healing | Personalized Engraving | Medical Gift | Healing Gift

For everyone who needs a wise companion for a difficult journey.

His name means God heals — and the root of that name still lives in the modern Hebrew word Rophe, meaning doctor of medicine.

Raphael is one of only three archangels named in scripture, and he is the protagonist of an entire book of the Bible. In the Book of Tobit, a young man named Tobias sets out on a long and dangerous journey — and finds a traveling companion who calls himself Azarias. The companion is wise, steady and quietly extraordinary. He guides Tobias safely through every danger, leads him to the woman he will marry, and instructs him in the use of a remarkable fish whose properties carry both healing and protection — ancient medicine in the hands of an angel. When the journey is complete and all is healed and restored, including his father's long-lost sight, the companion reveals his true identity.

I am Raphael, one of the seven angels who stand before the throne of God.

He had walked beside Tobias the whole way — healing, guiding, protecting — without ever being recognized for what he was. That is the particular genius of Raphael. He does not announce himself. He simply shows up and stays.

He is the Patron Saint of doctors, medical workers, the blind, those seeking healing, travelers and those seeking a spouse — everyone who needs a wise and faithful companion for a difficult journey.

Saint Raphael, pray for us.

This sterling silver oval medal carries his image on the front — Saint Raphael with his hands resting on the shoulder of Tobias, who holds the fish, the words Saint Raphael Pray For Us encircling the pendant. The back can be engraved with a name, a date, or a word of healing — making this a deeply personal gift for the doctor, the nurse, the caregiver, or anyone walking a road that requires a steady companion.

What to engrave: A name. A date. A single word — Heal. Guide. Steady. Hope. Up to 8 characters per line, three lines available.

For the doctor beginning their practice. The nurse who shows up every day. The patient on a long road to recovery. The caregiver who walks beside someone they love through the hardest of seasons.
