Skating Cat earrings adapted in low relief from Edward Gorey's back cover illustrations for his book AMPHIGOREY. The drawing shows a cat skating with the letter P in the word Gryphoemia, a Goreyism meaning either the heroine of a forgotten 19th century novel or a morbid affliction of the toes.

Gorey loved absurdity. Skating Cat is a wonderful example of his whimsical drawings about various improbable activities of cats appealing to cat lovers as well as to lovers of the charmingly absurd.
