Milkweed is the only plant on earth monarch caterpillars can eat, making it their sole food source and the one plant no monarch can survive without. Bumblebees love her too, drawn to the same clusters of pink, nectar-rich flowers that keep an entire garden humming through summer. Without pollinators like this one, roughly a third of everything we eat would simply cease to exist. Every bumblebee working her way through a milkweed bloom is holding up more of the world than she knows.

This design began with a single photograph of one bumblebee, caught mid-visit on a summer afternoon, transformed into art because some moments are too generous not to keep.
