Gossamer Wings is a beautiful ceramic mug featuring original watercolor art — a dragonfly photographed at rest on a New Hampshire wetland's edge on a summer afternoon, wings spread wide, perfectly still for one extraordinary moment before returning to the air.
Remarkably, her kind have been here longer than almost anything alive. Three hundred million years ago, dragonflies flew over ancient forests — smaller now, but the same essential creature, virtually unchanged across all that time.
She begins her life underwater, breathing through gills, spending years in darkness below the surface. Then one morning she climbs from the water, splits her own skin, and emerges winged and iridescent into a world of light and air.
